BEWARE OF SCAMS
I got nicked the other day for a few bucks in a scam. Somebody representing the power company called threateing to cut off the electricity, if I didn’t pay what they asked.
Don’t ask me why, stupid I guess, but I fell for it and paid to “prevent it”.
Two days later I get another call, this time from Solar, claiming I owe a yearly fee.
“They” found a sucker, and then kept at it, by upping the anty..the amount “due” to prevent cutting power.
I never heard of this before and this time I got smart and called Solar, and of course they said there was no such thing and warned me against scammers
He reminded me of what I should have known..no utility company will phone with any threats, nor will the IRS, which I also understand has been used by scammers.
I just wanted to warn you all not to fall prey to the buzzards, because there are plenty of them out there circling looking for prey.
My son gave me the best advice.screen your calls. If there’s a number that your are not familiar with, don’t answer it, if it’s important they’ll leave a message.
Because once you answer, even if you hang up right away, others will call, hoping to find a sucker..bob
