REVIEW THE BIDDING

Using a bridge term, let’s review the bidding at how things developed in our belief, as taught by the Apostle Paul.

In the beginning, the Son of God, took the form of a human, such as you and I, possessed of the Spirit of God (the Great Comforter), and he was called Jesus.

Over the course of some 3 years, Jesus taught  of a better way of living , in His many parables, and of the Kingdom of God; and  He boiled the “Commandments” down to two..love God and love your fellow man.

Because He represented a threat to the accepted way of life by the Jewish authorities He was crucified by the Romans. During His persecution He made us aware that “loving your fellow man”, meant loving your enemies.

His supreme sacrifice for us, meant that all our sins are not only pardoned, they are justified..they do not exist.  And though this would appear to give us a “license to sin”, God’s grace reigns us in.

Also, His death is the reason that ALL will be saved.

Now, there is nothing that man can do in the way of “works” to change that, and there is no need for intercession between you and the Father.  You need not “give”of yourself..  it’s already been done.

Paul’s basic teaching throughout his ministry..sins justified  and all saved. His teaching was received from the spirit of  Jesus  Christ.

The twelve apostles, on the other hand,  taught their fellow Israelites that of a living Jesus..live a better life by loving  God and your fellow man, they would, however; add a caveat  for proselytes, that all must be circumcised..bare the sign of the Jews.

All the apostles were united in one way as they were dispersed thoughout the then known world..tell pagans to do away with their gods and embrace a single God, for which they were persecuted and martyred.  The 12 were sent to a dispersed Israel..Peter to Babylon where there was the greatest concentration of Jews. Paul was sent to the “Greeks”.

Paul,  first known as Saul, was the foremost persecuter of those followers of Jesus, derisively referred to as “christians”, until He was literally blinded by Christ and soon became the most ardent believer.

He was then chosen by the Father and set aside to bring special teachings, and these were taught to him by the Spirit of God.  These he brought to the Jews first and then others, but later on the Jews stopped listening and he concentrated on the “Greeks” (pagans).

Paul, unlike the other appostles, was the apostle to the Gentiles (anybody who is not a Jew), but his teachings in no way excludes Jews.

While imprisoned in Rome, the destiny of “believers” was made known to him. Our lot will be in the heavens with the risen Christ Jesus..paulnbob

Maybe this will be of some use when talking to others.
