32. BUILDINGS
So many buildings being erected, and having been erected to show fealty to God.
What a laugh! Do yoiu think for a minute that God cares where you worship?
Revere God anywhere and anyplace you wish, and because the veil was rent, there is absolutely no need for anyone to intercede on your behalf. Like our Lord said, simply say, "Our Father etc.." You have a direct line.
Now, when you enter into many of these buildings, some huge and dominating, you will no doubt be in the presence of a large congregation. Naturally, the more the building can accomodate, the larger the crowd.
I have a"rule of thumb" about correctness of teaching. Where you find many people assembled, you will not find the truth.
Think of the waste in money spent on buildings, and then add the trappings, the gold and other precious metals, and the grand colored stained windows. How much better use could be found for all the money spent "glorifying" God? As if God needs glorifying.
God directed ONE edifice to be erected by ONE individual. He even layed out the plans and dimensions for Solomon, who built the temple to God's specifications. That was the ONE place where God wanted a building to be erected..in Jerusalem..the holy city.
When Juda and Benjamin and elements of Simon and Levi, the "Jews", allowed the Babylonians to destroy the temple, because they had turned away from God, there was no longer a building in which God needed to be worshipped. The Jews were scattered to the winds to hring monotheism to the world.
Herod came along and erected a temple to his specifications, which were "grander" than God's temple. This done, to stress his "Jewishness", because he was of Esau. Can you imagine anyone so stupid as to believe that his efforts should be grander than God's?
Now, maybe his temple had some provenance, because our Lord worshipped there. But He also doubted its being used as it should be..a "temple of thieves".
I will admit to being enamored over some of the grand cathedrals, and I've visited Notre Dame, the cathedrals of Chartre, Rheims, and St Paul's in London, to name a few. The Masons woked overtime to erect many grand buildings as directed by the Pope. The Pope, without, realizing it, was and is an emissary of the god of this world..
And who is the god of this world?
The most awe-inspiring, and spirit-enducing building that I found was in Iran. It was built of hardened clay. It was the size of a good-sized room, long and narrow. The altar was composed of the same material, and upon the alter were two candle holders, fashioned by cut-out coke cans. There were no statues, no stained windows, no precious jewels, but I felt as though I was in the presence of God. Buried inside the wall, to prevent his remains being desecrated, were said to be the bones of Jesus' disciple, Thomas.
Jesus, our Savior, taught under God's roof, and occasionally in the homes of followers. Paul taught in homes. What makes these "men of God" think that it's necessary to practice their craft in buildings? Think of what good could've been made of all that mony? paulnbob
NJOTE: beware of Verizon. They suck you in, by offering a reasonable cost for WIFI. But nobody, except those who only use email and nothing else can exist within the GBG assigned, and when you go over, is when they make you pay. Going to You Tube, movies, blogs, games, etc, all add greatly to your giggabites, and you'll pay dearly!
