101..FIRST BORN
In an earlier blog, in which I sought to dispell "sacred cows" of the Roman Catholic Church, I mentioned that Mary and Joseph had to have other children, in order for Jesus to be called the "first born"..that is the reason that term is used.
So, poor little Mary was not doomed to the life of a "Virgin" for the rest of her married life, waiting again for the Holy Spirit to call. She enjoyed the physical pleasures of life as much any mortal woman does.
This should be better understood by Nuns, who believe they are the "brides" of Jesus Christ, but unfortunately many sincerely believe that, and thus the ridiculous professing of the need to remain chaste.
But, being the "First Born" went far beyond this. Jesus, the Christ, was God's "First Born", and accordingly the creater of all the Universe. That was was His task. But, creativity extend into the heavens as well.
It also means that he was the first born to be resurrected and others are to follow. Paul tells us that God chose us ,believers, to be in Christ before the disruption of the world.
When He descends to earth, we will be resurrected/vivified and carried up to meet Him and, not as "siblings", but as a part of His body, and will remain with Him.
What we are to do will be what the Christ determines, when He returns to rule on earth, before turning it over to God, and subsequently when we accompany Him to the heavens.
Heavy, huh? Hard to wrap ones head around this, but it will come to pass..paulnbob
