138..IMAGE OF GOD
I don't suppose there's anybody who doesn't wonder what God looks like.
In Genesis we read where it says, "Let US make man in our image". I find it interesting that the Creator is joined by another in this endeavor..the Christ, His son.
Now, "Image" can be defined as a "physical likeness, or representation of a person".
Paul states that the Christ is the "likeness of God", and again that He is the "Image of the invisible God".
I wrestle with this, because I believe that God is a "presence", a force of energy, capable of creating or causing to create anything at will..a force unimaginable and unfathonable.
We should also remember that Jesus said "Our Father WHICH art in heaven.."
Now, this would tend to further indicate that God is not a "person", otherwise He would've said, "Our Father WHO art in heaven.."
Maybe it means that, God's Image, were He to choose to become visible, would appear to resemble "man"..paulnbob
