132..THROUGH A GLASS

I didn't want to write so soon, but I guess I'm on a "roll" and have to continue with the theme of the "child'ish" understanding to that of the  "mature"  in Corinthians.

Paul says, "For now, I see through a glass, darkly, but then face toi face."

In UNSEARCHABLE RICHES, we find that it should probably be expressed slightly differently. More like looking in a mirror, and being confused as to what exactly we see.

Why a mirror and not a glass?

I'm not sure, but it goes on to say that the word  translated from Greek is "INTO-VIEWER", so it would appear that Paul is saying that you are looking to yourself to understand what is  "truth", based on what he had told them to date, but this partial knowledge is confusing.

Once again, you may think that what Paul is saying is that we face  distortion of the truth, at present, but at resurrection the "truth" will be revealed.  Indeed, this is what I tried to convey to would-be "believers" who attended my play on the Apostle Paul.

But, what he is believed to be saying  is that, at the time his letter was written and we read, the Corinthians and we only understand a partial revelation of the truth and the final "truth" will be known later.

That "truth" is found in the prison epistles.

Paul knew the ultimate truth, that we will enjoy eonian life with our Lord Jesus Christ in the heavens, but he did not believe that they were mature enough to accept that "truth"..I trust that you are..paulnbob
