47..DEATH
Let's consider DEATH.
In the words of the immortal bard, Hank Williams, "No matter how I struggle and strive, I'll never get out of this world alive". And he was right.
Death is simply a cessation of life. When one dies, one rests. The bible explains it in Psalms "His spirit departs, he returns to the earth; in that very day he perishes".
Now, a human is composed of three basic parts: the corporeal body; the soul; and the spirit.
The "body" says we are made of earth and to earth return. All parts of the corpreal body eventually decay and become a part of the earth's soil.
In my case, I like to hurry the process, thats why I favor cremation.
Let's understand right away the difference between the "soul" and the "spirit". They are too often confused.
The "soul" is the life-giving force of the body.
In essence it is the blood-producing oxygen which keeps us alive. The heart keeps the blood flowing that provides the oxygen for the body. The "soul" gives us "sensation", a conscious ness of "being". Without a soul there is no sense of consciousness.
Now, understand, the soul is NOT "immortal".
When death comes, the 'soul" passes into the unseen.
Once again Psalms tells us, "The soul returns to sheol/hades". Too many think that hades is "hell", when it is merely the "unseen".
How does this happen?
The liquid, composing the soul becomes gaseous, at death, and passes out into the "ether" that surrounds us.
The "spirit" goes direct to God. Where God determines what to do with it.
This would figure, because God is Spiritual energy.
It is the "spirit" that is immortal.
Jesus said that He was filled with the spirit of God/the Great Comforter, and was therefore incapable of commiting sin.
I believe that the "spirit" is located in the brain.
When our conscience is speaking to us, it is God talking..paulnbob
