#1 Rob Peter to pay Paul
It's an old saying that to "rob Peter to pay Paul' means a member of one group leaves to be a member of another, usually an opposing group, and or taking money out of one account and putting it into another. But the saying had real significance involving both apostles in the early years of "christianity", because each had an entirely different message to deliver to followers.
Peter knew Jesus in the flesh, and his message concerned terrestrial promise, whereas Paul was concerned with the celestial, and he knew Jesus as the Christ, ascended.
Peter set about proselyting gentiles and converting jews into a new way of following the laws. Gentiles were accepted as followers after being circumcised and were subject to the laws of the jews..they became jews who believed that Jesus was the messsiah.
Paul taught that the Law..the ten commanments no longer governed the way of life, because Jesus died for all mankind. His death paid for all the sins of the world, and God graciously justifies all of their sins.
I became a follower of Paul over 40 years ago, and realized very quickly that he held a special place in God's heart. He was separated from the others to bring a special message to all who would believe.
His letters are oftentimes confusing. Even Peter said so. Thus the reason for the title of this blog. It is my intent to make Paul's teaching clearer to those seeking the truth..it is my pleasure to do so..bob 4 Paul
