94..EPHESIANS 1

Why Ephesians of all the "prison epistles", because it speaks to us in plain and simple terms as to "WHO we are".."WHY we are chosen.."WHAT we are to do"..WHERE we are going"..Paul states  that "mystery" was made known to him by revelation.

He leaves no doubt as to these occurences, beginning when he says WHO we are, "fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God" . Now, that's hard to take in, ME a member of the household of God?  I may not be the greatest "sinner", but I'm damn sure no "saint"..but then again, think on who are the declared "saints"..they were human with human foibles just like us, even the Apostles. And again he reminds us that we are a "part of the body of Jesus Christ"!

Paul tells us of WHY we are chosen. Reminding us that WE have nothing to do with it.Even going so far as to say that he might even be the last one who should be chosen (I think, however, this is a little "self-deprecatory). We have not been chosen, because of anything we do or did. We have been chosen, because God chose to do so.  It is by the grace of God that we enjoy this amazing blessing, and  it is through the FAITH of Jesus, who sacrificed His life for all mankind, by which God has granted us this grace, and the salvation of all.

He goes into great detail as to WHAT we are to do, starting with being imitators of God..now, that's a pretty heavy responsibilty.  I always think of the supreme act of being Christ-like is "by loving your enemies".  Now, that seems virtually impossible, but Jesus did just this while dying on the "cross". Paul also reminds us that even though we live on this earth, our actions should be that as though we are already "ascended"..be Christ-like.

WHERE we are to go is another "mind-blower".. we are to ascend to the heavens to sit beside Jesus the Christ..paulnbob
