153..EON VS ETERNITY

Eon is variously defined as being an indeterminate length of time..animmeasurably long time, and even a a billion years ..

So, even though  there have been  a number of different descriptions of what  an eon  is, it is evident that, despite its length  in time, there is a limit to how long it lasts.

Eternity, on the other hand  is described as “unending”..it goes on forever.

Some would say that the Christ will reign for ever and ever, but that’s far from the truth, because His reign on earth, according to Paul, will last until “sin” has been abolished ,  the last being “death.”

Following that period of time ,“eon”,  usually thought of to be  1,000 years, He will abdicate  willingly , in favor of  God the Father, who  will rule here on earth.

The Christ, having been relieved of His responsibility here, will then ascend  to the heavens and  undertake to  bring order there.

At which time,   His “body”  of “troops”,the ecclesia,  Paul’s followers will ascend to join in battling  the scourges of the heavens,   whatever they may be.

The word “eternity”, slipped into the bible, due to a mis-translation of the Greek word for eon.  Nowhere in the bible is there a place for eternity.

Eon on the other hand plays an important part  in God’s design.

The Concordant Bible, in its Keyword Concordance,  reports that there are five distinct periods of eonian time, two of which are in the future.  We are apparently in the third eon.

Through this period of eonian time and life through the ages here on earth,  what has been His Eonian purpose or intent, design?

It is for Him to be All in All to mankind…paulnbob
