57..JUSTIFIED
Justified is defined in our everyday life as being warranted or right. An act may be justified, even if bad results. An example, that seems to appear often nowadays in print, is when law enforcement forces conduct an action to free hostages, as the only way open to them, and innocent people die.
There was a specific action in the bible that you should consider as an example.
Our Lord, was dead or near death, hanging on the "cross". One of the soldiers was ordered to pierce Him with his lance, which he did, and blood and water poured forth, indicating that Jesus was dead.
This act was "justified", indeed righteous, even though it seems horrendous. Because piercing Jesus' body ensured that he was dead, and the breaking of His legs was no longer necessary. The act of breaking the victim's legs was used to hurry up death and get them off the post, before the Sabbath begins. Because of the piercing of Jesus' body, this act was unnecessary, and the prophecy was fulfilled that our Lord's body would not be broken.
So this soldier performed what would seem to be a vicious, "bad" act, but in actuality, carried out the will of the Father, and thus he was justified.
Now, remeber there were three basic tenets of Paul's that are vastly different than what is currently taught by traditionalists. They are: All will be saved; Believer's lot will be in the heavens; and we are not pardoned, we are justified of our sins.
So lets examine the very basic quality of "justified" that should bring us great joy. We are not pardoned, if you will, excused for our sins, we are justified. First of all it comes direct from God, because His Son was sacrificed for us, and there is nothing more to be done. There is NOTHING that we do that either detracts or adds to this.
Keep in mind, that you don't have to do anything to receive this "gracious" reward!
It's been done.
As being declared justified, or rightreous in Gosd's sight means that whatever sin we may commit or intend to commit, or have committed is absolved. Think of it this way..it is as though it was/is never commited!
So, some say, that means we can continue to sin with impunity, but Paul reminds us that where sin abides, grace increases..paulnbob
