131..WHEN I WAS A CHILD

I know that the numbers are out of sequence, that's because I inadvertenly allowed a blog to appeasr entitled "standard page", which came before 130..CHARISMA, and I apologize to those of you opened a blank page.

Despite that gaff, I'll continue with what Paul had to say, about "gifts", and what it all should mean to the Corinthians and us.

Again, I turn to my usual source, UNSEARCHABLE RICHES, from the 3d Quarter, 2017.

The phrase, "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, understood as a child, but when I became a man, I set aside childish things", is a familiar one.  It is one that I use in my play ALL THINGS TIO ALL MEN, The Life of St. Paul, in the "prison scene", before he is taken to be martyred.

When I proclaimed that, I meant that those in the audience would understand that, the "childish things" referred to what it was that we thought was truth, growing up, but upon maturing, we would understand the truth, as espoused by Paul.

But, it also means that those who possess  certain special "gifts", prophecy, healing, language, etc  would consider them as unimportant, upon "maturing" in knowledge, because we possess something of far greater import, life eonian with our Lord, Jesus Christ..paulnbob
