50..SIN REVISITED
First..I'm heartened that a number of you have viewed my video, GOD'S "MESSENGERS", because now you know, first hand, just how special Paul was/is to the Father. Imagine, me, of all people receiving those "visitors", while preparing my play, ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN, the Life of St Paul!
How do you think you would've felt?
Sin is an oftetimes misunderstood word and action..usually associated with the so-called Ten Commandments. violating one or more..going to "hell" for committing.
By definition, it simply means "missing the mark..making a mistake..falling short of the ideal".
I'm sure that when Jesdus Christ left His Disciples for the last time and gave them their instruction.."Be thou perfect", that He was expecting them not to sin..pretty damn difficult.
You've heard the expression.."the wages of sin is death". Well, that's true, in this respect..the ultimate "sin" is DEATH. So, obviously, we're all sliding toward the ultimate sin.
When the Christ returns, He has promised to do away with sin, and the last one will be DEATH.
Paul does us the favor of listing those sins for which we are directly responsible, the so-called SEVEN DEADLY SINS, they are: PRIDE,COVETOUSNESS, LUST, ANGER, GLUTTONY, ENVY, and SLOTH. I do pretty good on the "not committing" of "gluttony".
Last point on "sin". Because Jesus died on the cross. He literally took away the sins of the world.
Once again, understand, we are not PARDONED or FORVIVEN. It isn't as though we are excused for our shortcomings. NO, WE ARE JUSTIFIED..as though they didn't/don't/won't occur!
Paul also reminds us that, just because the sins are not held against us, we will sin "willy-nilly", and why? because GRACE superexceeds! paulnbob
